Two Ink Configuration Options
The BD Series supports two different ink configurations depending on your application needs.
1. CMYK + Primer (Adhesion-Focused Configuration)
For printing on difficult surfaces that normally resist adhesion:
- Glass, metal, tile, coated substrates, hard plastics
- Primer is laid down first to promote long-term durability and chemical/abrasion resistance.
- Best for functional prints, industrial prototypes, and high-wear items.
2. CMYK + Gloss (Texture & Special-Effects Configuration)
For customers who want high-value, tactile finishes:
- Create raised textures, spot gloss, emboss-like layers, labels, luxury packaging effects, and braille-style raised lettering.
- Layer gloss multiple times under or over CMYK for dramatic 3D effects.
- Ideal for branding, luxury goods, gift shops, custom packaging, and decorative applications.
Note: Gloss replaces Primer in this configuration—choose based on whether adhesion or effects matter most for your workflow.
